RESIDENTS
Remote Gardens or Shared Spaces for Residents
There are a number of homes in the area; mostly small infill blocks with 4 - 12 flats where the communal gardens at the back are divided into a plot for each of the flats. The conditions of the gardens vary greatly. Some are well kept, some are overgrown and there are all sorts of variations in between. Although the residents are responsible for the upkeep of these gardens, they have not been given any support, hence the present mixed picture.
We'd like to survey residents, not only to find out what they want to happen to the gardens, but to cost the possible options. We'd also like the leaseholders' point of view.
To help us get started, if you live in an area with these remote gardens, give us your views.
-
Is the condition of the gardens an issue for you? Would you rather keep your individual garden or see it become part of a communal garden with PCH taking over responsibility for maintenance.
-
Should Phoenix enforce the tenancy conditions and take action against residents who are not keeping their gardens up to standard?
-
What about offering support to residents to keep their gardens up to standard by carrying out a one off clearance so they can start afresh?
-
If you are a leaseholder, how do you feel about these ideas?
-
Should Phoenix set up and support gardening clubs, so that people could share their skills and help each other out?
Or do you have other proposals of your own?
